Raisin $ for UWWe heard it through the grapevine...

Park Place Motor Cars EXCEEDS Goal!

I have been the Campaign Coordinator for the last few years here at Park Place Motor Cars. It seemed like every year we couldn't reach our goal. Last year we even got a dunk tank for something different. After I attended the training session this year, the one thing that really stuck in my mind was: "If you do the same thing - you get the same results!"

So this year, I thought let's have a theme: "Raisin Money." Everyone got a box of raisin with their pledge form along with a small spreadsheet stating what our goal was. The spreadsheet listed several donation amounts and then listed the payroll deduction per check. I think that really helped people put it in perspective instead of a big lump sum. I recruited a couple of fellow employees to help me. At several meetings we mentioned some United Way facts and what each dollar means to our community.

We tried a few new ideas:

  • An employee potluck luncheon was our kick-off event.
  • Bake sale- where several employees donated baked goods.
  • Pumpkin patch- we picked some pumpkins ourselves at a local orchard that generously donated the pumpkins.
  • A raffle was held with a few gift cards that were donated to us.
  • Our wrap-up event was a BBQ hosted by Park Place Motor Cars!

I love to say that we made 112% of our goal, which was actually higher than past years as well!! It is so great to finally meet and exceed our goal!

I just want to say thank you! I am already thinking of themes for next year's campaign.
